Hole in the wall

The wood around the door and windows in our kitchen was completely rotted out in several places, so we decided to replace the whole unit. Alan agreed to rip out the old stuff in preparation for the window fitters, so that we could save some money. He cut a brick wall at the bottom, and began to take stuff apart on Thursday night.

However, being that its Wales and all... rain was forecasted overnight and early next morning when the fitters were supposed to arrive! So bring out the big blue tarps...

...try to enclose the six foot by 10 foot gaping hole in the back of the house and pray that it doesn't rain too hard!

It did rain, but the tarps seemed to work. And this is the final result the next day. Minus two pieces of glass in the windows to the right because the fitters came with the wrong sized pvc window units and had to go back to the shop to remake them. Hopefully wood will keep things secure until Tues or Wed when the glass is ready!
