Day out

We enjoyed a touristy day out at the Hans Herr house, built in the 1700s. It was a special Heritage day at the farm, where dozens of volunteers dressed up in period costume and demonstrated household and farming things from that era. We sampled loads of yummy foods and watched wheat thrashing demonstrations, baking bread, smoking sausages, hand churning butter, etc.

Cerys tries her hand at pumping water from the well.

Afterwards, we drove to Lancaster County Central Park, where we found a shady spot by the river to have a picnic. There was a wooden picnic table there, but Brenin wouldn't let us use it. He didn't feel it was a picnic unless we sat on the grass!

Ah, now this is the life!! Resting while everyone else plays football!

The proper way to eat an Oreo cookie! Gently peel the two biscuits apart and then lick the white cream out of the center!
