Portmeirion

We spent a blissfully warm and sunny February day in the quirky village of Portmeirion. Portmeirion was built by Welsh architect Clough Williams-Ellis from 1925 to 1973 to demonstrate that a naturally beautiful site can be developed without ruining it. I don't think anyone actually lives in it today, but there is a hotel and cottages that you can stay in.


I like this photo more for the mischievious Brenin poking his head into it than for anything else!


It was even warm enough to eat ice cream outside around the plaza and fountain area. Cerys enjoys mint choc chip with a Welsh flag decoration.


We've owned our digital camera for six years, but it was on this holiday that i finally learned how to use the Sepia function!


And of course, with three kids, you can't go anywhere without stopping at a play area. We even found one in Portmeirion.
