some outside photos
This week the rain finally stopped and we've had dry days. So Alan has had the chance to work on some of the outside problems, including this boundary wall.

The old mortar had lots of gaps and cracks, which allowed water to seep down into the wall, saturate the stones, and cause moisture and damp problems inside the little shanty, which we will use for a laundry room. (I'm so excited not to have my washing machine and dryer in the kitchen!) Mr Jack-of-All-Trades put on a row of bricks, lead flashing, and some new slates to top it off.

Here's the rest of the back of the house. The large window is the boys' room. And the little window is the bathroom.

And here's the single car sized garage/workshop where Alan can't wait to work!
