When it rains, it pours

During the second week of the kids' Easter break, we went to Skegness with some friends. Midweek, we received a phone call from our neighbour saying that our house had flooded! The hot water pipe to the kitchen sink tap came apart and nearly three inches of hot water covered our kitchen floor and spread into half of our front room. The kitchen was like a steam filled sauna, with water droplets dripping from the ceiling. We've been going through the whole insurance process over the past two weeks, and walking around on cement floors. Even if i dusted everyday, we'd still be able to write our names in the dust by evening because the floors kick up so much dust. Notice the large blue industrial blower to dry the kitchen floor and the green de-humidifer, which have both been humming away. So, it feels like two steps forward and three steps backwards...with the house.

In other news, in pre-flood days...Cerys and I had a girly day out in Cardiff. We went to see Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus Best of Both Worlds in the cinema. We had the chance to wear extremely fashionable glasses, since it was a 3-D movie!

And afterwards, we treated ourselves to lunch at the Pancake House in the Brewery Quarter. Cerys had a ham and cheese pancake. I had ham and mushroom. Then we shared a sweet one with hot fudge, bananas and ice cream. They were lush!
