Several weeks on...

Well, it's several week on since we got the allotment. Thankfully, we've had nearly two weeks of dry weather now and this week is looking good as well. So we've had plenty of opportunities to dig and dig and dig. We have about 1/3 of the ground turned over now. We've also had the chance to meet Dennis and John, the men who work the allotments on either side of us. Dennis has worked his allotment for nearly 40 years and John for 25 years.


Dylan has found a passion in raking the soil til it's very smooth. We're planning to go up today to plant the first seeds with Steph and Carys, with whom we share the work in the allotment. It's a huge learning experience for us, as they do things so differently here. Like creating little squares instead of planting seeds in long rows. And making sure what is planted next to each other so that it keeps various critters and bugs away.
