A week at Black Rock

We spent a week at Black Rock Retreat with other missionaries. We were given two hotel-style rooms with a double bed and two twins in each room. Since we didn't trust the kids in a separate bedroom, we dragged a twin mattress into the one room and all slept there. We used the other room for hanging up swimsuits and towels to dry! And one night I stayed in the second room for a few hours reading a book while Alan and the kids slept.

We took an inflatable daffodil along with the words Wales/Cymru on the side to share some Welsh culture! Cerys also read a poem she'd written in school called Through my Welsh Window.

The kids had age-appropriate activities all week long. Dylan and Cerys were in the same group and seemed to really enjoy the activities and meeting new friends who live around the globe.

Brenin struggled a little bit, being one of the older ones in his age group, and also the only older boy. But here he is hamming it up with two of his girlfriends!

For Alan and I, the days were filled with group teaching, workshops, and small group activities. Lots of worship together as well. I didn't know many of the songs, but it was good to sing 1 or 2 that we sing in Wales.
